Better

The song says:
“Whatever state I find myself in
I learn how to be secure
Knowing that God
Will supply all my need
And it works out for my good”

The Bible says:
Romans 8:28 “And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.”

Jeremiah 29:11-13 “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Then you will call on me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you. You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart.”

No matter your circumstance, remember God is in control and we should praise Him through the good times and the tough times. Because it will all work out for your good! It will get BETTER. Selah!

Everything

Everything. This song is an anthem for the true believer.

What is your commitment level to God? He is fully committed to you, with arms wide open He is always there to comfort us. His glory is great and His grace and mercy is sufficient for us. Jesus came to earth and executed the ultimate mission for our salvation. God is continuously operating in His power and purpose.

Our purpose as followers and believers is to worship Him.

The bible says:
Isaiah 43:7:”Everyone who is called by my name, whom I created for my glory, whom I formed and made.”
Revelation 4:11:“Worthy are you, our Lord and God, to receive glory and honor and power, for you created all things, and by your will they existed and were created.”
Hebrews 13:15:”Through him then let us continually offer up a sacrifice of praise to God, that is, the fruit of lips that acknowledge his name.
Romans 12:1: “I appeal to you therefore, brothers, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God, which is your spiritual worship.

How many of us give God everything? How many of us can truly say that in everything we do, in our praise and worship, in prayer, in our daily lives, that we give EVERYTHING to God? Every Sunday, do you worship God in Spirit and in Truth? Do you pray continuously? Do you reflect on yourself to make sure you are doing these things? Do you have someone you are accountable too?

Today, let us this song inspire you to give more of yourself to Him, and see what God will do. Selah!

Something About the Name Jesus

FIRST: PLEASE WATCH THE ENTIRE VIDEO!

This worship experience is unique. The message behind their movements is that the Devil will always try to disrupt your praise because he knows how powerful it is. So why do we give him ammunition by not praising God in Spirit and in Truth? I hope this video inspires you this morning to take a few extra minutes to give God what he deserves. Shout to Him to break the chains in your life. Realize that there is nothing more powerful than the name of Jesus and that He is all you need in this life. Nothing else matters except serving God and sharing His message of love and salvation.

Your problems cannot beat God. So stop worrying, and praise Him! In the name of Jesus, every knee shall bow, and every tongue shall confess, that He is Lord!

King of Glory

Let us never forget in our praise that God is the King of Kings, the Lord of Lords. He is the King of Glory and His majesty reign over everything. Not just the earth, but the heavens and over all of time, from the beginning to the end. This song reminds us not only of God’s great glory but that we are commanded to praise Him always and pray without ceasing. When you think of all the wonders of God, it should be a natural response to worship Him. Sometimes we get to a place where we forget to put God first, but setting aside personal time every day to incorporate worship in your life is a sure way to keep Jesus at the forefront.  Psalm 24 says:

“A Psalm of David.
24 The earth is the Lord’s, and all its fullness,
The world and those who dwell therein.
2 For He has founded it upon the seas,
And established it upon the [a]waters.

3 Who may ascend into the hill of the Lord?
Or who may stand in His holy place?
4 He who has clean hands and a pure heart,
Who has not lifted up his soul to an idol,
Nor sworn deceitfully.
5 He shall receive blessing from the Lord,
And righteousness from the God of his salvation.
6 This is Jacob, the generation of those who seek Him,
Who seek Your face. Selah

7 Lift up your heads, O you gates!
And be lifted up, you everlasting doors!
And the King of glory shall come in.
8 Who is this King of glory?
The Lord strong and mighty,
The Lord mighty in battle.
9 Lift up your heads, O you gates!
Lift up, you everlasting doors!
And the King of glory shall come in.
10 Who is this King of glory?
The Lord of hosts,
He is the King of glory. Selah”

David entreats us to remember that it is he who has clean hands and pure heart, who is not worshipping an idol in God’s place, that is the man who shall ascend to the throne with Jesus. Don’t you want to be in that place? Don’t you want to be of Jacob’s generation? Then let us never forget who God is and always put the King of Glory first. Amen.

Changed

“Old things are passed away
All things are new
I’m not the same
Yes I’ve been changed, Yeah
It’s true I found my life in you
All things are new
I’m not the same
Yes, I’ve been changed.”

In Tuesday Night Bible Study, we’ve been reading Acts and Romans, discussing the importance of the birth of new church after Jesus Christ’s resurrection and ascension to heaven, where He poured out His spirit to guide the believers in the spreading of the Gospel.

We discuss the importance and necessity of the Holy Spirit operating in a true Christian’s life. What are the signs that you have the Holy Spirit? Is it a feeling? Or is it something more? One clear evidence that should be visible in the life of a believer who is guided by the Holy Spirit is a change in character and temperant. Christian should be going through a process to become bearers of the fruit of the Spirit. Our worship should reflect the transformation in our minds and the dying to our flesh every day.

This song is a declaration that yes, you have been changed. You are not the same and that is only made possible by the Holy Spirit!

Falling On My Knees+You Are Here

This song is short and simple:

“Falling on my knees I bow, bow down…..I can see clearly now, here on my knees.”

The purpose of worship is to align your heart, mind, body, and spirit in the presence of God. Why is this important? Because we don’t know everything. We can’t see the future. At times we think we’ve got everything all figured out just to have life slap us in the face and tell us to think again.

But we are not ordinary people. We are the children of God. We are the salt of the earth. We must worship in that identity and humble ourselves to a spiritual posture of worship that is submissive to the will and understanding of God.

We are not meant to figure everything out on our own. The Bible says:

Proverbs 3:5-6 New King James Version (NKJV)
5 Trust in the Lord with all your heart,
And lean not on your own understanding;
6 In all your ways acknowledge Him,
And He shall [a] direct your paths.

Some things you’re not going to see clearly or understand fully until you give it all to God. Take a few minutes today to worship God and put yourself in a position to receive what He has for you.

This song has a follow up which also works to usher in an atmosphere of worship:

Free Indeed

Happy Independence Day, America!

The power behind worship is that it is a choice. No matter your circumstances, you can choose how to respond to your situation. You can choose to be miserable during hard times, or choose to let go and trust God. Ultimately, you decide whether to live a life in bondage or be a free child of God. Worship is an act of your will.  This song simply says:

“I’m free indeed, in Christ I’m free indeed. No chains are holding me, its who I choose to be…I choose to be free!”

The bible says in Romans 8:

“There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus, who[a] do not walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit. For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has made me free from the law of sin and death. For what the law could not do in that it was weak through the flesh, God did by sending His own Son…Yet in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us. For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come, nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.”

God sent His Son Jesus Christ to die on the cross for our freedom, and Jesus died for us out of His love for us, that we may not be held in the bondage of sin but have freedom and everlasting life through the gift of salvation. All we need to do is choose Jesus. Choose to live a life of obedience to the Word, renouncing sin out of our lives. All we need to do is willingly lift up our hands in worship, declaring that in Christ, we are free indeed! Selah.

Again and Again and Again

First, take a minute to LISTEN TO THIS ENTIRE SONG!

When has God never been there for you? Even when you think you are alone, God is there! And He will solve all your problems. He will heal all your pain. He has the PERFECT plan for your life. When are you going to praise God like you REALLY trust Him? When are you going to truly give up on trying to things on your own and allow God to be GOD in your life? I mean, when are you going to let Him be first and foremost, let Him guide you and take care of you and let the endless depth of His love pour over you? Stop worrying and praise the King of kings! He is the Lord of lords! He is the Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end.

Psalm 113 “Praise ye the Lord. Praise, O ye servants of the Lord, praise the name of the Lord.
2 Blessed be the name of the Lord from this time forth and for evermore.
3 From the rising of the sun unto the going down of the same the Lord’s name is to be praised.
4 The Lord is high above all nations, and his glory above the heavens.
5 Who is like unto the Lord our God, who dwelleth on high,
6 Who humbleth himself to behold the things that are in heaven, and in the earth!
7 He raiseth up the poor out of the dust, and lifteth the needy out of the dunghill;
8 That he may set him with princes, even with the princes of his people.
9 He maketh the barren woman to keep house, and to be a joyful mother of children. Praise ye the Lord.”

AND IF HE DID IT BEFORE, HE WILL DO IT AGAIN! That difficult thing you are going through? GIVE IT UP TO GOD!! LET HIM HANDLE IT! Be empowered! Get up and praise Him now! Selah.

He’s faithful God
He’s an on-time God
He’s a healing God
You will come through once again!
Just in the nick of time!
Satan is defeated!
You WILL come through once again!

He’s a wonder, He’s a wonder! He’s a mighty God!

Great Are You Lord+Good Good Father

This past Sunday we celebrated Father’s Day with many people in the morning service taking a couple minutes to share with the congregation what their father means to them.

Let us never forget how our fathers have impacted and shaped our lives, good or bad. However, ultimately it is our Father in heaven who has the final say and the most influence on our lives. It is our Great Father in heaven who knows us all better than we know ourselves and who has already ordained a divine and victorious will for our lives. The Bible says,

Jeremiah 29:11 New King James Version (NKJV)

11 For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope.

Let us worship our Father in heaven, remembering how perfect He is in all of His ways, how faithful and true He is. How He never changes. He is the highest standard for fatherhood and what we should strive for in parenting our children.

Thank you, Father, for showing me the depths of Your love. Amen.

Smile

Romans 12:1-3 King James Version (KJV)

12 I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.

And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.

Let us remember that God takes joy in our worship, that our main purpose as worshippers of Christ is to show Him our love and submission. Not as slaves, but as children – as sons and daughters of Christ. As the adopted, the chosen ones. We want God to know that it is better to be in His presence for these moments of praise and worship than anywhere else in the world.

“Better is one day Your courts, better is one day in Your house…than 1000 elsewhere.”
